On 4th July, specialist wetroom manufacturer Impey attended the Women Installers Together Conference 2018. Organised by Stopcocks Women Plumbers, the event saw over one hundred female installers gather to celebrate women in the plumbing and gas fitting industries and has been described by the Impey team as: “Modern, refreshing and a huge success.”
Currently in its second year, the Women Installers Together Conference took place at the Building Centre, Fitzrovia, London. With an estimated 1% of UK installers being female, the event has been conceived to encourage and motivate women in the industry, as well as to raise awareness of the career path and establish a firm and equal footing for these installers. Throughout the day, delegates were able to listen to inspirational guest speakers, get involved in group discussions and share their experiences with fellow attendees. In attendance to offer advice and inspiration were Jazz Wilson, a relationship management specialist, Anna Hemmings – MBE and Olympian, and the event’s founder and host Hattie Hasan, who also established the successful franchise business, Stopcocks Women Plumbers.
In addition to scheduled talks, the attendees took the opportunity to network with fellow delegates and meet a selection of carefully chosen industry sponsors, including the team from Impey, who were on hand to advise on products and opportunities available within the wetroom sector. Founder
Hattie Hasan said: “We believe this really is the beginning of a massive change in attitude which will be great for the industry as a whole.”
Commenting on Impey’s sponsorship Hattie said: “With the increasing desire for wetrooms, Impey’s innovative solutions and emphasis on good training show they’re a forward-thinking company enabling elegant and beautiful design in both form and function – exactly our sort of people! WIT leads the way in highlighting and celebrating female installers and Impey lead the way in wetroom systems; a marriage made in heaven!”
Shaun Hunt, Impey’s Technical Manager said: “We are incredibly pleased to have supported the 2018 Women Installers Together Conference. It’s our first time at the event and we were extremely impressed: it was modern, refreshing and a huge success.”
The Impey team also donated two prizes to the raffle, giving two lucky winners the opportunity to attend the popular ‘We are Wetrooms’ training course for free.
