Ibstock Concrete helps sports injury foundation

Ibstock Concrete has joined forces with Davidsons Homes to develop a new accommodation complex at the Matt Hampson Foundation Get Busy Living Centre in Leicestershire

The Foundation’s Get Busy Living Centre in Leicestershire provides state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities to support individuals recovering from life changing sports injuries.

The new accommodation will feature two lodges, which are being constructed by Davidsons Homes as part of the leading housebuilder’s commitment to the Foundation. The new development will enable the centre to extend its reach further across the UK, providing beneficiaries and their families with a safe and comfortable place to stay when receiving critical treatment, or in the interim between leaving hospital and returning home.

Ibstock Concrete has donated roof tiles and insulated flooring systems, including over 2,000 Forticrete SL8® Roof Tiles in slate grey and 170 square metres of Longley Concrete insulated Top Sheet flooring systems, including 13 tonnes of floor beams. These are being supplied for installation across the two single storey lodges.

Tommy Cawston, CEO of the Matt Hampson Foundation, said: “By developing two new lodges with step free access that house two bedrooms, a wet room, kitchen and living area, the Matt Hampson Foundation will be able to support a wide range of individuals and their families with the initial stages of their recovery. This is an extremely challenging time for everyone and it’s fantastic to be able to continue with such a positive addition to the centre.”

The development, is being led by Ex-England rugby union international, former British Lion and Leicester Tigers player and long-standing ambassador for the Matt Hampson Foundation, Tom Croft, who is also land manager for Davidsons Homes. Croft retired from rugby in 2017 following a neck injury.

He said: “The construction of the two new lodges is an integral part of Hambo’s (Matt Hampson) long-term mission to support the widest spectrum of people possible. All of us at Davidsons Homes are extremely proud to be a part of this process and we’re working closely with the local community throughout every stage of the build to make this happen.”

Tim Wright, Managing Director, Concrete Products at Ibstock Concrete, said: “We have had a strong relationship with Davidsons Homes for many years and it is a real privilege to be able to work together to support the Matt Hampson Foundation in helping beneficiaries across the whole of the UK through the development of its new accommodation lodges.

“We look forward to seeing the site progress as we continue to work closely with Davidsons Homes and the Matt Hampson Foundation to oversee the supply and installation of our concrete building products
